About PawAI Hub
A set of free AI tools and honest calculators for pet owners. Built by one person who actually uses them.
I started PawAI Hub after spending a weekend measuring dog food with kitchen scales and realizing every online calculator either wanted my email address or served 30 banner ads per page. The tools here are the ones I wished existed — a feeding calculator that takes activity level into account, a breed identifier that doesn't require an app download, an insurance comparison that admits when a policy is bad.
Who writes these
My name is Jim Liu. I'm a full-stack developer based in Sydney, Australia. PawAI Hub exists because I live with a 6-year-old Border Collie named Bella, and I found most "pet tool" sites online are auto-generated content farms. I wanted the kind of honest, numbers-based tools I build for myself — and I figured other pet owners might want the same.
How the AI tools work
Three of the six tools use AI:
- Breed Identifier — computer vision model fine-tuned on 180 breeds. Returns top 3 guesses with confidence scores. Not medical diagnosis.
- Emotion Reader — body-language classifier. Flags stress signals (ears, tail, posture) in a still photo. Educational, not a replacement for a trainer.
- Training Q&A — LLM-backed answers with cited sources. I curate the training resources it can pull from. If the model doesn't know, it says so.
The calculators are just math. Open source formulas, published methodology on every tool page.
What this site is not
Not a vet. Not a diagnostic tool. Not a replacement for a trainer or behaviorist. If your pet is sick, call your vet before anything else. The AI tools here are educational aids — for the 2am "is this normal?" curiosity before a proper consultation.
